Departmental Requirements for Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Applied Science

A doctoral program in Engineering and Applied Science, administered through the College of Science and Engineering, is available to Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) students. Students applying for admission to the doctoral program must meet the following criteria: 1) completed or in the process of completing a master’s degree in engineering or applied science or equivalent field, and 2) score 60th percentile or better in the quantitative section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Environmental Science applicants must have score 60th percentile or better in one or more of the aptitude sections (Verbal, Quantitative, or Analytical) of the GRE.

The candidate must also submit: 1) all university transcripts, 2) three letters of recommendation, and 3) statements of interest and career goals.
