History
Course Learning Outcomes are measurable statements that are used to identify the specific knowledge and skills that a student should have at the end of a course.
Lower Division History Courses
L1- Introduce chronological thinking by identifying continuity and change, cause and effect, and other analytical thinking skills related to historical change through time.
L2- Develop skills to interpret primary and secondary sources.
L3- Explain and support arguments in response to historical questions.

L1- Develop historical research skills to locate and interpret primary and secondary sources.
L2- Evaluate historical argumentation by analyzing a variety of perspectives and sources of evidence.
HIST 4491
L1- Apply historical research skills to locate and interpret primary and secondary sources.
L2- Evaluate historical argumentation by analyzing a variety of perspectives and sources of evidence.
L3- Develop original historical questions and formulate historical arguments based on evidence to answer those questions.
Upper Division U.S. History Courses
L1- Analyze historical developments and position the ideas, motivations, and actions of people in the past within their local, national, regional, and/or global contexts.
L2- Employ chronological thinking by identifying continuity and change, cause and effect, and other analytical thinking skills related to historical change through time.
L3- Evaluate and/or construct historical argumentation by analyzing a variety of perspectives and sources of evidence.
L4- Implement skills to interpret primary and secondary sources.
Upper Division World History Courses
