Students in the College Nursing, Rehabilitation and Human Health (CoNRHH) engage in challenging and contemporary curricula under the direction of highly skilled and nationally-recognized faculty. All programs in the CoNRHH are nationally accredited and graduates across all programs boast high employment/placement rates. Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) prepares graduate students to work in the fields of Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and Listening and Spoken Language. The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program and the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Counseling

The mission of the Master of Counseling (M.COUN) program faculty is to nurture the next generation of highly skilled and ethically-minded counseling professionals.  The Department of Counseling faculty believe that providing comprehensive education, grounded in evidence-based practices, and a commitment to creating an environment of belonging, accessibility, as well as being representative of the world within which counselors work, prepares students to excel in counseling practice, research, advocacy, and leadership within the counseling profession. The Master of Counseling degree is designed to be the strong foundation upon which graduates enter a lifetime career in the counseling profession. 

Our Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited doctoral program in Counselor Education and Counseling is dedicated to advancing the field of counselor education and supervision through rigorous scholarship, innovative andragogy and supervision, and active engagement with leadership and advocacy. Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of leaders in counselor education and supervision who will shape the future of the counseling profession via transformative learning experiences, mentorship, and scholarly inquiry. 

Human Performance and Rehabilitation Sciences

The Department of Human Performance and Rehabilitation Sciences (HPRS) offers the Doctor of Physical Therapy, the Master of Occupational Therapy and the Master of Science in Athletic Training, as well as several related dual or accelerated degree options. The Doctor of Physical Therapy program prepares entry level physical therapists who optimize human movement and function by providing educational opportunities in practice, service, and research. The Occupational Therapy program prepares entry-level clinicians to be competent to meet the diverse needs of people locally, nationally, and globally by upholding the standards of occupational therapy education. The Master of Science in Athletic Training program prepares entry level athletic trainers. Students in the program experience clinical rotations with Division I FCS ISU athletic teams, high school athletics, sports medicine/physical therapy clinics, and physician’s offices. These programs are committed to providing high-quality student-centered interdisciplinary education, scholarship, lifelong learning opportunities, and respect for cultural diversity.

Rehabilitation and Health Sciences

The Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation and Health Sciences program (PhD in RHS) provides students with education and research training to develop their area of expertise to become independent scholars, educators, administrators, or leaders within their disciplines. Students will be expected to complete academic core, research core, specialized program, dissertation and other program requirements for degree completion. The program is offered through either traditional (on-campus) or non-traditional (online) models with full-time or part-time options, however certain limitations may apply.
