PHTE 1101 Fundamentals of Phlebotomy Theory: 5 semester hours.

Introduces foundational knowledge and theory for phlebotomy practice, including anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, infection control, safety procedures, quality assurance, and medical terminology. Emphasizes correct use of equipment, order of draw, preanalytical factors, and legal/ethical considerations. F, S, D

PHTE 1101L Fundamentals of Phlebotomy Lab: 2 semester hours.

Provides guided, hands-on practice in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial collection techniques. Students perform simulated procedures in a lab environment with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and professionalism. F, S, D.

PHTE 1102 Phlebotomy Clinical: 1 semester hour.

Provides 40 hours of supervised clinical experience at an approved healthcare facility. Students must complete a minimum of 100 successful blood draws and demonstrate competency in patient interaction, specimen handling, and adherence to professional standards. F, S, D
