SCPY 1001 Psychology of Diversity and Learning in Schools: 3 semester hours.

This course frames diversity as a broad, dynamic, and complex idea that encompasses differences in race, ethnicity, SES, language, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and disability status, to name a few. Psychological theories and research will be examined. Course will be activity driven with a service learning component. The goal of the course is to increase students' knowledge, exposure, self-awareness, and appreciation for diveristy and its impact on school-age children. Fulfills Objective 9 of the General Education Requirements. S
